Abstrakt

W tym eseju zamierzam przedstawić przegląd różnych opinii na temat homoseksualizmu istniejących w judaizmie. Chcę pokazać rezultaty długiego procesu kształtowania się poglądów na tę kwestię. Większość członków społeczności żydowskiej oraz większość obywateli izraelskich akceptuje dziś akty homoseksualne i związki partnerskie. Osoby homoseksualne wyświęcane są na rabinów, a pary osób tej samej płci mają możliwość uświęcenia wspólnego życia.

Rabbi Walter Homolka BD (Munich), MPhil (St. David’s University College Lampeter), PhD (King’s College London), PhD (University of Wales Trinity St. David), DHL (Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion New York) is a Full Research Professor of Jewish Theology at the University of Potsdam, executive director of its School of Jewish Theology and rector of the Abraham Geiger College. He is also the executive director of the Zacharias Frankel College (Masorti). Since 2005 he is a Member of the Executive Board of the World Union for Progressive Judaism. In 2017, Homolka was elected chairman of the Union of progressive Jews in Germany. He is also Chairman of the Leo Baeck Foundation and CEO of the Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Scholarship Foundation.

Rabbi Homolka belongs to the „Jewish-Christian Advisory Board“ of the Central Committee of German Catholics as well as to the Conseil des Sages of the Luxembourg School of Religion and Society under the patronage of H.E. Jean-Claude Cardinal Hollerich SJ.

In 2004 President Jacques Chirac admitted him to the French Legion of Honour. In 2018 the Polish Council of Christians and Jews named Homolka Człowiek Pojednania.
